A good option would be for this remake to be not very popular.

Personally, both options are fine with me, although I suspect that everything will go according to the scenario described above. If the new HD version is a quality product that a lot of people will play, plus with a built-in Steam ladder to replace Hamachi and other TV-like platforms, then why not switch?
