Arranging to play HoMM3 online!

Is it really impossible to find anyone to play with on the entire platform? When I add people and offer to play, they immediately start using local slang and so on, or they say "I've already made plans" or "I don't think it will be interesting to play with you" ... Is it really taboo to play? Or do the local "bums" judge the level of play based on nicknames?
