NNV, as I calculated, is not an option.

Why isn't it an option? While the troll is attacking the city, the dwarf will have time to reload his cannon. It's a viable option. :D And if the troll happens to encounter a Celestial Shield today, tomorrow we'll get the same result as today. The only difference is that the dwarf will only have one night of rest left. What happens next? The dwarf rests a little more, after which Arghat puts a Berserker on him, and... the Mages win.

P.S. The city only wins if the Mages themselves throw the game. The Mages only win if the city throws the game to them.
