The first attack on the main stack was a stone spell, and as a result, 3 basilisks weren't finished off. As the analysis showed, without petrification in the first round, the battle could have been won with 70+ skeletons remaining. Plus, it wasn't worth giving up, as Svarog was in a bad position.
