I ran VCMI version 0.97-2 (downloaded from 4pda.ru) with SoD (my own copy, I just copied it to my computer). It works fine (Lenovo 1.3GHz * 4 cores, 512 DDR, GPU Mali-400 MP2), and the computers run it no slower than on a laptop. It's not comfortable without a mouse, but I got used to it after a while. The only thing is, I don't understand how to configure the right-click button. And random maps take a long time to generate.
