God... Truth or fiction?

You know, all the problems children have stem from the fact that adults always think they know what's best for them. Parents are so concerned about their children that their freedom is reduced to zero. If the gods cared for people in the same way, they would have long ago become disillusioned with humanity. Why do the gods need human children? What is their purpose? If the gods created humans to bring them to the level of gods, why didn't they just make them gods right away? And if the goal is paradise or hell, then I wouldn't believe in such a god.
