I had some free time, so I reviewed the organization of the previous tournament and created a sample plan for the current one; it might be useful. Currently, we have 92 confirmed applications and 8 pending. I've created a draft tournament bracket with groups and a double-elimination format.
The numbers on the left indicate the number of participants in each round. The participants in the upper bracket for the current round are in square brackets on the left, and those in the lower bracket are in square brackets on the right. The number on the right indicates the number of participants who will be eliminated after the round.
100 (12x6 + 4x7) - 36, #1-2WB, #3-4LB
64 ([32]+[32]) - 16,
48 ([16]+[16+16]) - 16,
32 ([8]+8+[16]) - 8,
24 ([4]+4+[8+8]) - 8,
16 ([2]+2+4+[8]) - 4,
12 (1+1+2+[4+4]) - 4,
8 (1+1+2+[4]) - 2,
6 (1+1+[2+2]) - 2,
4 (1+1+[2]) - 1,
3 (1+[1+1]) - 1,
2 ([1+1]) - 1,
1. Winner
I've also created potential seed groups based on players' ratings from previous "Favorites" tournaments, their seasonal ratings, and their chosen castle. The letters in parentheses indicate: S (players who prefer SoD timer), A (players who agree to play on unlimited time), and ? (players whose applications have not yet been confirmed).
