I have an acquaintance who was excellent at throwing knives. He could hit the target accurately from almost any position. But he only threw his own knives, made specifically for him – he wasn't very good with others.
And the second one, an older guy, could throw axes and even nails – anything! Even toothpicks!))
Now that's skill!:)
Well, most professional throwers (i.e., those participating in various competitions and circus performances) do something similar – they train and perform with a set of knives made or selected specifically for them. However, they don't seem to have any particular problems with other knives.
From my personal experience, I can say that for reasonably successful throwing of an unfamiliar knife, two or three practice throws are enough...
