Can anyone really believe that the registration period will be shortened with a snap of the fingers? I don't understand why there's all this pointless chatter.
It's not just empty talk – these are real proposals to make things work for everyone. Of course, it wouldn't be a good look for the organizers to backpedal. However, this isn't an academic institution; it's a fairly informal organization that, by definition, should be flexible.
1) As suggested above, we could start the tournament and allow latecomers to register until November 1st.
2) In addition, we could create an "accelerated" group – those who can start, say, on the 20th or earlier (by agreement).
3) In the future, we should make the registration period shorter. Therefore, this discussion is primarily aimed at the future, so that there isn't such a mess with the start dates in the future. And it's already clear that the majority of players have already registered. There's a proposal to shorten the registration period in the future!
