I spent all my restarts, had to take 112 in a promising surrender with Luna, because I lost my entire army on the Citadel computer. It gave a sparse respawn with no objects, I decided to capture the swamp on 112 but the computer managed to build and buy out the Wyverns on 111, so I had to place a Citadel in the swamp and leave part of the army there. Then I almost died against the Castle computer — there were 2 Mages with archery and a bunch of Pikemen. Somehow I survived, but suddenly I ran out of money, and almost nothing was left of my starting army. I waited for the second week, barely bought what I could, took an external dwelling of Wyverns in the swamp, and went into the Castle treasure zone, where with great difficulty I fought off a box for 90 using Kirya's Pegasi. She had Advanced Wisdom, and the box turned out to be empty...
I also took a mini Dragon Fly Hive in that treasure zone. There was nothing to buy Angels with. At the start of the third week, everything was very bad. But then on 131 Galtran appeared in the tavern with 3 stacks, and there were Necro Boots on the respawn. My only hope was the treasure zone in the underground, and the hope paid off handsomely — 4 Hives, a 3-stack Griffin Conservatory, and 4! Dragon Utopias, which gave excellent stat bonuses, as well as a hat for all of level 5 and Wings (the victory hat was also given, by the way, lol)
At the moment I was collecting the Dragon Utopias, my opponent bursts into my respawn — kills all the meat in the ramp with a frenzied Armag, and runs as a scout hero with the main force of skeletons and ducks towards the swamp castle, missing it by one tile. In that same treasure zone, I found Bracers, checked the scout hero for magic — there was an Orb, just what I was missing. I charge Galtran into the swamp, bring up the main force, and trap them with the Bracers. Stats 31 30 20 20 vs 10 9 9 8 decide the battle, and when the opponent realizes they cannot buy their way out — they surrender.
Thanks for the game!
