Discussion of the format and rules for the upcoming Third Tournament of Elements.

Not a great idea – I think it’s better to play a Swiss-system tournament with 5 rounds. I’m afraid we won’t be able to handle a round-robin format. We could play best-of-3 matches between players – one game with a reduced set of templates, one with a full set (or both games with mutual agreement), and decide the format of the third game by a coin toss.

I’m not against it: it’s a compromise, and the tournament format is not cliché...
We randomly draw up a list, and for the first round, we form pairs: 1-7, 2-8, 3-9, etc. Then, as usual, we create pairs based on the equality of points scored by players in the previous round.
From the 2nd round, we can do it like this:
- 1st option: Swiss system with the Buchholz coefficient,
- 2nd option: full double-elimination system.
