Decided to play by the rules of "favorites."

In the first game, I found Galtran in the tavern, and by the end of the week, I got a brown companion for the castle. Near his city, there's a teleport leading underground to another corner zone of the fork, and immediately a passage to a super treasure.
During the second and third weeks, I built up an army and scouted the map. On the fourth week, I cleared the super treasure, which gave me some good loot, but not enough for victory (wings, sword, and shield with +9 attack, sandals, combat offense, fire enhancement, and a captain's hat).
On turn 211, I had two options: either engage in battle or try to rush into the super treasure on the snow, which I could only reach after a turn using the wings. I decided to attack, but there was an impl with enhancement and mass haste, and a stack of skeletons with 3 armageddons, so the odds were not in my favor. The second option probably wouldn't have worked either; he wouldn't have let me into the treasure with 2 damage dealers.
