My opponent played Necromancer, and I somehow managed to take all his castles except for the corner treasure zone by the end of the second week. I successfully built a Mage Guild with Town Portal and Dimension Door, and it seemed like Darkello was about to surrender, but that wasn't the case. After a couple of my unsuccessful attempts at Fortress Battle where I lost a lot of units, Darkello won what seemed like an impossible game.

Actually, things were slightly different; my opponent built one Mage Guild and got Town Portal + Dimension Door there. While he was taking back his castles, I took 3 Dragon Utopias, gained full control, and acquired decent artifacts for necromancy, and assembled an elite army. Twice, I offered Grindan a draw, showing him that I had full control, but both times he refused. In all the Fortress Battles, I managed to win… I think there were 3… in the last one, even summons didn’t help him ;(
