The SVVP lost its balance and crashed somewhere else in the mountain range.
During the rocket barrage, the gorge collapsed just as Irene and Mara were running through it. They miraculously survived, but there was no way for them to return. Mara's jetpack malfunctioned. After a while, everyone else (except Wenling and Ramzan) safely reached the forest.
