How to play Heroes of Might and Magic III online via Hamachi?

I would greatly appreciate help from those who are knowledgeable in configuring Hamachi on a laptop (not mine) – for everyone, the connection goes through a relay server (resulting in a very slow connection and high ping) – I've already tried everything: changing the metric, gateways, moving Hamachi up and down in the list of connections, disabling and enabling encryption, disabling the firewall, and adding the Hamachi folder to Avast's exceptions, etc. – nothing helped. Windows 7 Home Basic 64-bit is installed.
