Your school nicknames and favorite/least favorite names.

I'll say this: I've gotten used to almost all the Russian names. I won't list them to avoid offending anyone. But when I hear an original, unique name, I don't have any mocking associations. Quite the opposite. I'm all for diversity. So, it shouldn't be seen as a pathological case if a name stands out from the others.
