Question about the number of monsters...

I have a question: for example, in the info about monsters on the global map, it says that there are many of them (or few, or a horde, etc.). So, how many is that? Please provide information for all the options (for example, "few" means from this number to that number, and so on, in ascending order)... Thank you very much!
