Actually, the female version doesn't look bad; it just needs a decent, full suit of armor.

The armor will need a significant rework if you want it to look good. Besides, it looks more like plate armor, even though, in theory, these knights are supposed to be fast-moving troops. And the helmet and shield are also awkward. And while the shield is somewhat acceptable, I've never understood the desire to give troops such ridiculous headgear.

And these breastplate-like armors are getting old; does anyone still think they're effective in battle?

Well, let's just say that no one ever really thought they were, and breastplate-like armors were always made with a specific purpose in mind. However, they don't become any better because of it.

The male version is questionable, yes.

Yes, even if you make the female version closed, it still won't be great.
