[/CENTER]Kingdom of the Manticore, Maldina, spring, 19th day of the 5th month, morning. Continuation of the report. I have settled in a tavern on the outskirts of the city. Perhaps not the most comfortable place, but here I will not be disturbed and I can focus on observing the events. Unfortunately, I am not strong enough to see everything at once, but, expanding my consciousness, I monitored the most unusual events.
I saw how a random passerby on the street, with just a glance, imbued one of the residents with a suspicious charge of vigor and energy. Obviously, magic was involved. I saw a black man return from the forest and put a strangely looking mixture on the fire. I saw a young girl, mockingly, perform an invisible magical ritual on her neighbor, as a result of which he collapsed on the bed without strength and fell asleep in a dream in which he saw nightmares. I saw a man meditating, keeping the image of one of the residents in his mind, as if peering into his soul and reading his thoughts and intentions. I saw a red-haired man bump into a woman in a hood on the street. They parted, but, moving away, the woman turned around, and I felt a surge of magical energy emanating from her. Nevertheless, some instinct told the man what was what, and he quickly ran into an alley, avoiding the attack. The sorceress did not pursue the target and continued on her way, while the red-haired man, after waiting a little in the shelter, soon went on his way.
Engrossed in observing this clash right in the center of the city, I almost missed another surge of magical energy. Two barely noticeable spells, identical in their essence, were directed at Ment and Neyra Drake. I only managed to feel that they were harmless, just a slight scan of consciousness. And the magic directed at Arandor was definitely harmless; it rather benefited him.
To obtain some information, I did not need my abilities. In the morning, the entire tavern was buzzing with rumors that Ursula was detained by the guards at night. No one knows exactly what happened, but in the morning she was released. And the main topic of conversation was the fate of the unfortunate Ple-Sen. They say that he was seen at night in a deplorable state, as if he had been struck by a magical discharge. Some claim that he didn't even know where he was going. It is not surprising that in the end Ple-Sen was caught somewhere in the alleys and simply stabbed. Apparently, this is the work of bandits. Although he was not a nobleman, many agreed that the poor fellow deserved a better fate. More than one mug of ale was drunk in his memory, and those visitors who possessed a richer mind reasoned that Maldina would now regret entering the war, that its authority had been seriously undermined. The authorities are silent about the incident, but, using my abilities, I learned that some Edward Cullen and Black Beatrice were thrown into the dungeon.
