It was early morning, and a thick fog, so typical for this place, greatly limited human vision. Both men heard something that sounded like the flapping of large wings, but neither could figure out what was causing it.
— Come on, let's go, — replied his partner, holding the deceased by the lower part of the torso. Apparently, not all of yesterday's hounds were killed, and one of them still made it to Morning and feasted on its insides, just as the Hellic Kite major from Angermünde died. But unlike the major, they were going to throw Morning into a freshly dug grave, as if he were an unnamed peasant, even though he deserved more. — And it's strange, apparently there were also wolves among the dogs; today we found one dead body, and it definitely wasn't a dog. Somewhere ahead, they heard the crackling of branches under the weight of someone approaching. The soldiers became alert, anxiously waiting to see who would emerge from the fog. This someone, fortunately or unfortunately, turned out to be Rudyy.
As if greeting his return, a beautiful girl performed a dance, and two new ice sculptures appeared in the city: statues of Arandor and Nefela.
It was a strange day for Heroist too. While walking around the city, an unpleasant-looking man with Tyrian features approached him and began asking various questions, and then suddenly beat him unconscious. As he lay on the ground, he caught a glimpse of one of the townspeople kissing someone's shoes, showing no disgust at all, but rather doing so with great pleasure. When Heroist came to, he decided that he must have imagined it.
