A program for calculating the strength of the guard on random maps in Heroes of Might and Magic III, called H3CalcGuards.
At first glance, this calculator program simply changed the course of the game. But then I started to wonder how it could affect the outcome of a match, because I consider myself a smart guy, and I can only guess who this template – H3CalcGuards – will be useful to and whether it will bring success in the future to an inexperienced player?! Is it possible to develop a certain proficiency with various templates?! Yes, perhaps this is all interesting and tempting, but is it worth relying on knowledge of the intricacies of the Heroes 3 mechanics at hand, or should its further study and development be left to the older Heroes community?! (Excerpt from http://magazine.rusimperia.info/12_2006/archive1.html, A. Alyokhin, JEWISH AND ARYAN CHESS, Translated from German by A. Tsitrin. 64-chess review No. 18/19.1991, paragraph 1).
