If you are downloading 1.4, there is no need to download 1.3. 1.4 is a cumulative patch. Therefore, it can be installed on any version from 1.0-1.3. However, I recommend downloading 1.41.

That's for sure. Since I installed it for myself and two friends, none of us have had a single crash. And I installed it immediately after its release.
