With this thought in mind, she suggested to her friend that they take a bath together.
"I'm sorry..." she managed to say before rushing out the door.
Her heart was pounding so hard that its beat echoed in her temples. Could this fragile friendship be shattered by her curse? Or was it more than just friendship? Akane was very afraid.
She went outside and sat down on the steps of the wood storage shed, placing the blood-stained hyena katana on her lap and closing her eyes, trying to calm down.
"By tomorrow, it will be forgotten, and everything will be as it was," she told herself.
A couple of times, she got up and was about to return to the room, to her dear Snow White, but she sat back down again.
And so she remained sitting on the makeshift bench, in her dirty clothes, with the blood-stained katana on her lap, her eyes closed. She had no idea how long she would sit there, perhaps until morning.
A couple of local boys, running across the yard, saw her, screamed, and ran into the house as fast as they could.
