Biography: From childhood, Urthang was distinguished by incredible physical strength. However, nothing less was expected of him, as he is the youngest son of Glaugrung, the greatest of the leaders of the Black Raven clan. Urthang's youth passed happily and peacefully. The orc always dreamed of following in his father's and brother's footsteps, becoming a great warrior and gaining glory through military exploits. But he did not see an opponent whom he would consider worthy. The only "neighbors" of his clan were goblins, creatures that were weak and cowardly. True, they were tasty. The elders of the tribe told stories about beings called "humans." According to them, these humans are one and a half times smaller than orcs, five times weaker, and twenty times more cowardly, but at the same time, they claimed that after their barbarian raid, an entire tribe once died out. The old men also said that they come from the endless expanse of water on large boats. But then Urthang didn't believe it. Like most orcs, he thought that the world was his island and neighboring islands; they are surrounded by water that stretches so far that even if the keenest scout of the clan climbs the tallest tree, he will not be able to encompass this space with his gaze, and beyond the water lies the end of the World. But one day, when Urthang and other warriors sat around a campfire roasting a goblin, a sentry ran up. He said that three large boats had sailed to the island, and creatures smaller than orcs, larger than goblins, and with light skin came ashore. The warriors grabbed their weapons and rushed towards the shore... And then Urthang saw humans for the first time. Remembering that humans are weak and cowardly, the orcs rushed at them... Many glorious warriors fell in that battle because instead of fighting fairly, the humans used their noisy tubes—truly a weapon worthy of cowards—and the warriors began to fall one after another. But the spirits of the forest themselves came to the aid of the orcs: giant trees shielded them from bullets, thorns pierced the enemy's skin, making it difficult to aim, and the orcs fought unhindered on their native land. Having defeated the enemies, the orcs stretched their skins over drums, and all night long, a terrible hum echoed throughout the island. Goblins huddled near the fire, thinking that it was not the orcs beating the drums, but the evil spirits of the forest rejoicing. Two years later, a new trial awaited the Black Raven clan—a flood began, followed by famine. Then great grief happened—Glaugrung, the greatest of leaders, died. Urthang's older brother, Shugrat, became the new leader. A heavy fate befell him—to begin his reign during a period of famine. But the tribe believed in him. Unfortunately, the orcs were poor hunters. Almost no one knew how to shoot with a bow; they didn't even know about traps. Most of the orcs are warriors, not hunters. Agriculture is even less for them. And yet, orcs need to eat a lot. Of course, there were goblins, which were relatively easy to catch... But one terrible day, the orcs returned completely dejected and said that there were only three dozen goblins left on the island. With a reduced daily ration, this would be enough for a week. Then the strongest and most powerful, who were also the hungriest, left the clan to save it. They built boats and set off beyond the edge of the World. They were seen off as heroes. Thus, the warriors of the Black Raven clan scattered throughout the world. Few survived the journey across the ocean, but Urthang was lucky. He ended up in the city of Kladez. He tried to find some of his comrades-in-arms there, but he did not succeed. However, to his surprise, there were orcs in Kladez. Seeing no other way out, he stayed in the human city. And then one day, he heard someone shouting something about a ship and an ocean. Urthang already knew that the word "ship" simply meant a large boat. Then he approached the man and asked: —Grr. The ocean is a big water, my understand? —Ehh,—the man even shrank slightly under the gaze of the orc,—Well, yes. —Humans on big boat swim kill orcs? —N-no, n-to establish connections with colonial settlements and d-deliver cargo. —My never swim on big boat. But my swim! —P-please talk to Mr. Navarro. The orc walked away. —I must sail if humans really sail to kill orcs, seize the land of orcs; I cannot allow this! And I must find my clan; I cannot stay in the stinking stone camp of humans.
