Yesterday, I checked the forum rules, but I didn't see anything similar there: most sites specify that a username must meet certain requirements, in particular, it must be readable (you cannot use special or service characters, etc.). I think it would also make sense to introduce some reasonable restrictions here. For example, yesterday, this user joined us. His nickname in messages "loses" characters from the middle part. How should we refer to him, in your opinion? "Hey, you, buddy?" Or how?
I understand that everyone wants to stand out from the crowd, but there should be certain limits, right?
