I had the same problem, but Death Knight gave me some strange mod that added huts. He removed some files from it, and it started working, but the index.bin file was affected. When I installed NCF, where it was also affected, the dwellings disappeared, and I had to extract them onto the map using shared, entering long strings like
MapObjects/_(AdvMapObjectLink)/Objects-Dwellings/Orcs/T6.(AdvMapDwellingShared)
