Everything else is too complicated for regular Heroes of Might and Magic players.

If someone explained how weapons and hand-to-hand combat work, and what attack/defense affect... The rest is trivial. I would play.

We had Wulfgar who wanted to do something similar. No one wanted to, for quite obvious reasons.

First, there were people who wanted to. There just weren't many.:(
Second, something similar to what Wulfgar proposed has already been done here several times. The descriptions of the roles were just in a more familiar (for the local population) form.
