Even in infancy, Elin began to demonstrate a rather rare talent for magic among warriors from overseas lands. This was a source of pride for her parents, but also a burden: they understood that if their daughter wanted to develop her talent, she would have to be sent to the New World, not back home. He advised her to take a ship to Highlight, where the influence of the Black Lion had not yet spread.
But upon arriving on the island, Elin encountered another unpleasant surprise – someone sank her ship, and she herself barely managed to survive. She was forced to hide and conceal herself to preserve her life. At the same time, she kept an eye on the new rulers of the city. The arrival of a new ship, with the same result as before, gave Elin confidence. She didn't rush to show herself to the newcomers; they looked too much like pirates. Instead, she watched them. Eventually, she followed two individuals – a Khontai and a Dal Shabet citizen – as they broke into a wealthy building and emerged with girls who had been freed from captivity. This increased their credibility in Elin's eyes, but first, she decided to make sure that no more ships would be sunk. Therefore, she entered the house herself to examine it more closely. She took the opportunity to search the bodies of the red-haired Khontai and his companion for clues. On the body of the former, she found only a couple of magical swords, one of which ("Beauty of the Moment") she took for herself. However, there remained the corpse of the Chosen of the Moon...
