Simply, if a person takes a long time to think, it doesn't mean they're doing it intentionally, it doesn't mean they're bad – they're just like that, and you can't blame them for it. I also like to take extra time to think, to weigh my decision, if the game's resources allow it. You can't say, "Hey, hurry up with your turn."
So, let these people, and you too, play Heroes the way they like, okay? The game's resources allow it.
But the point isn't that at all, but rather that current trends suggest a move towards using a chess timer. There's no need to conduct polls to understand that the overwhelming majority of players are in favor of a chess timer. Why resist the obvious?
In reality, the argument is pointless anyway; 90% of games will still be played with a chess timer by agreement.
And the argument is, indeed, about nothing. There's a choice of which timer to use.
