As the daughter of Harold Alfren, better known as Harold Icebreaker, Velda was practically destined to spend most of her life at sea. And while she had no problem with a life full of battles, a life full of naval battles was much less appealing to her. This was due to a mysterious, almost panicky, fear of water. A northerner who is afraid of the sea is something even rarer than a northerner who is afraid of battle. She coped with this fear primarily through weapon training, so Velda could distract herself and not think about the water. Her second solace, much to her father's displeasure, was faith. But not faith in Gurdil, as he hoped, but faith in the Emperor. During one of his voyages, Harold managed to save Relius, an Ataraxian righteous man, who promised to help Harold and soon became his friend. Unfortunately, Harold did not foresee that friends could also influence the worldview of your children. However, the Emperor was at least not some soft-hearted Amrit, so it wasn't the worst event in Harold's life.
Unfortunately, neither training, nor faith in the Emperor, nor Relius's help helped Velda overcome her fear of water. Moreover, after the latter's death, things got even worse for her. Harold saw no other way out than to let his daughter go free and hope that over time she would be able to overcome her fear. And that is why Velda headed to Nevermore to take part in Agares' expedition, to single-handedly overcome her fear and return to her father triumphantly. Along the way, she also intended to learn more about the strange cult that had taken root in Nevermore. They are only gaining strength now, people don't like them, which means she has a great chance to prevent a potential disaster and prove her loyalty to the Emperor. Unless, of course, the members of the cult turn out to be quiet and peaceful people.

However, he saw some meaning in her words – the girl needed a weapon for life. Therefore, he acquired the best axe he could find for Velda. And then Relius stepped in, who consecrated her weapon.
Wooden amulet - ideally, this amulet was supposed to depict the Emperor. At least, that's how Velda imagined him as a child. In reality, however, no one except perhaps Velda herself can say what exactly this trinket depicts. However, being a kind and gentle person, Relius could not refuse a little girl and blessed this strange piece of wood. Velda still wears it as a sign of faith and a reminder of Relius.
