Opponent resigned and I got to choose the layout;) I was dealt 13 archers, barely scraped together enough money for 5 heroes, but I could see the potential. I had no way to upgrade the archers, so on turn 113 I went with an unupgraded stack to guard a secondary mine, where swordsmen beat me up pretty badly, killed all my fodder. In the end I was left with 10 archers, but the respawn didn't disappoint, there was plenty of money + a Pandora's box with 5k gold behind fakes. I bought cavalry in the castle (though I had to build the castle first and then the cavalry, since I didn't have enough resources). On turn 117 I brought all the wealth back to the castle. On turn 121 another hero flew in with 5 archers, resulting in 29 grand units and 6 cavalry. Along the way I picked up 2 Dwarf Cottages (max and near-max). In short, plenty of money. On turn 122 I bought a Griffin Conservatory with 1 peasant and went for the second secondary mine, but then word of surrender arrived.
Thanks for the game!
The respawn and starting wealth were dealt nicely. With griffin flies I fought off the lizardmen's nymphs (caps were standing), but both passages to the adjacent zones were monks. On the second week I picked up more flies, beat the monks, saw nothing there except money (turned out it generated some kind of weird long zone). I had 50 grand lizardmen and 4 ducks, a few gnolls, then for some reason I felt like going to a Naga Bank(4), and that's how I lost :( .
Thanks for the game!
