Opponent resigned and I got to choose the layout ;) I was dealt 13 archers, barely scraped together enough gold for 5 heroes, but the prospects were clear. There was no way to upgrade the archers, so on turn 113 I went with an unupgraded stack to guard the secondary mine. There, the swordsmen gave me a proper beating, wiped out all the meat shields. In the end, I was left with 10 archers, but the respawn didn't let me down — there was a ton of gold there, plus a Pandora's box with 5k gold behind the fakes. I stuck cavalry in the Castle (though I had to build the Castle first and then the cavalry, since I didn't have enough resources). On turn 117 I brought all the loot back to the castle. On turn 121 another hero flew in with 5 archers, resulting in 29 Grands and 6 cavalry. Along the way I picked up 2 Dwarf Cottages (maxi and pre-maxi). In short, tons of gold. On turn 122 I got a Griffin Conservatory with 1 lousy unit and headed to the secondary mine, but then word came of the opponent's surrender.
Thanks for the game!
