I have 6 points, and spells cost 1 point each? Assassin costs 3 points, Scout is free, or am I mistaken somewhere?

Bow = 1 point per level
Magic = 1 point per spell
Assassin = 3 points
Scout = 3 points
In total, you have skills for 14 points. (5 + 3 + 3 + 3)
But, since you have three free ranks in the bow and the scout skill, you spent a total of 8 points on skills. (14 - 3 - 3)

But there are also 2 specialization points + 3 free ones - 5 points.

Specialization points are spent on unlocking skills to learn, but not on acquiring ranks in them or learning spells.
