Programming tutorial books.

There are also courses on the basics of programming in general. Absolutely free. Although, if you need a paper certificate of completion, you will have to pay something. It seems like 20 bucks. But the paper is just for show, you can live without it.

You can just go to edx.org, section "courses", choose the topic "Computer Science" and subscribe to what you find interesting. But the rest there, IMHO, is a bit difficult for a beginner.
