And it seems like the tournament has been abandoned/is no longer relevant.

Organizers, please respond.

Just two posts ago, one of the organizers responded, offering to play with newcomers who need to play a certain number of games to qualify.
Currently, the tournament is in the registration stage: newcomers submit applications, organizers get to know the newcomers, and collect data necessary for communication and correct seeding.
And just to be polite: you can send me a message on ICQ and ask anything you want about the tournament.
