Potato blocked Alexeagle. Although there's nothing about Potato in the description, the description intuitively seems like a block (Alex was locked in a room -> couldn't perform any actions that night). Besides, in this Mafia game, the only visible actions are kill, block, and protect the Botanist. Out of these three, block clearly fits best. Something like that.
