How to effectively use quick battles (autobattles)?

Quick battle = standard autobattle. The fact that you don't see what's happening on the screen doesn't change anything. But there is one difference, as described above, for battles that last longer than 30 rounds.
And AI versus AI is no longer a battle, but a specific calculation.
