How to effectively use quick battles (autobattles)?

Here, if you try to initiate the attack manually and then start the auto-battle, Gem loses! I suspect that (as someone mentioned here before), the algorithm for calculating the quick battle doesn't take into account the presence of the Tactics skill and the level of proficiency in it. And the difference is huge: Charna immediately positions her troops almost in the center of the battlefield, and even with expert-level slowing, they reach Gem's units in the first round.
