It did happen! At the beginning, he was a nuisance that kept me on my toes, so I had to give him my castle for 2 weeks to gather my army and finally defeat him! It was interesting, especially during his first four appearances.
But towards the end, it became tedious to chase him every month (although with upgraded logistics and boots, my movement range was about one and a half times greater, and I could easily catch up!).
It would have been nice if there was a quest at the end of the game to get rid of him!
