Awakening of Evil

I spent 4.5 months playing on the veteran difficulty, and eventually, reluctantly, I reached the blue outpost. I went to the tavern and swore – where am I supposed to get such resources? I captured the mines and received a hint about the human castle. But I still don't understand where to find the tear. In my opinion, the hints should be more specific and clearer. Besides, the elf monster is looming. Overall, it's a strange map; it feels more like a random exploration. Although, it's clear that it was made with love.
