The opponent dealt more damage, but I placed a tower and used a chain spell to deal 480 damage, wiping out the entire enemy force.

Confirmed. I attacked the opponent in his castle – he had a couple of angels, 6 knights, 130 skeletons, and 13 grand mages.
I had an angel, 400+ skeletons, 10 nagas, gremlins, and mages.
But against a mass haste strategy, there's no stopping them – he ran away from me and decimated my forces with magic.
