1 point is awarded for a win, 0.5 for a draw, and 0 for a loss.
This makes it advantageous to drag things out "until the very end," and when the deadlines start to approach, you can even come to an agreement. Perhaps there is a reason to limit the game time to a certain period, after which either one side surrenders, or the sides agree to a draw?
