Did you play without the HD mod, man?
I probably won't be revealing anything new (I think many know this, but I'll still share what I personally unexpectedly discovered).
Since I personally always play fair, I was still concerned about how players with the HD mod cheat, despite the fact that when trying to enter a cheat code in the chat during the game, the HD mod supposedly exposes this code entry with a corresponding message (Cheater!!!).
After those snakes, I decided to test it, and the conclusion is as follows:
- If you create a game shortcut, write in it the well-known simple manipulations to automatically enter codes (see fizmig, page 23), then launch the game from this shortcut, you can enter codes through the top menu by pressing the F4 key and selecting the desired cheat code. In this case, no message about cheating or entering a cheat code is sent to the opponent!
Tested only in single player, via hot seat.
This problem needs to be solved at the software level, but first we need to test this hypothesis in a real connection with a player.
If there are any other workarounds for cheating - let me know, we need to remove this possibility.
