It happened. I was playing catch-up the whole game; only the archs and the fact that my opponent wasn't rushing to take the castle for their angel upgrades were any consolation (and at that moment, I had nothing to meet them with). In the end, Mullich got the elixir, found the cloak of renunciation, and scraped together enough money to upgrade half of his angels. I could have held out longer, but Labeta was already aiming from 2 DDs out of the darkness to grab my starting castle, and giving archs to the opponent was not an option at all. So I attacked with the cloak; the mistake was that despite having the black orb, I blanked and didn't hit the water elementals with an ice bolt (which is exactly why I carried it—to blind phoenixes if needed and slash elementals with magic). That same black orb disabled resist and made the +15 boots useless. And then the morale of the monarchs with +1 finished me off; with 3 morale and 2 luck, it didn't proc for me once :) Thanks for the game.
