Dnaor, the Anglo-French did not capture Crimea. There was a completely different background. Namely, the war between Russia and Turkey, which threatened to strengthen the former and lead to the collapse of the latter. Our European colleagues did not really want a bunch of Slavic states to emerge in the Balkans and for the Empire to have undivided rule in the Black Sea, so they helped Turkey. And Crimea was just a convenient place for a landing.

I already wrote that (I don't remember the reason - I'm too lazy to look it up). They only captured Sevastopol, Russia's main naval base in the Black Sea. But if Russia had been too weak, they would not have stopped there.

I won't answer this right away - I've been interested in it for a long time. From memory, I'll add that after the collapse of Kievan Rus', part of the territory, now called Ukraine, came under the control of Lithuania. However, there was no big problem with this, because the Lithuanians treated the Ukrainians loyally. Until, as a result of a monarchical marriage, Lithuania merged with Poland and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth was formed. If you want to clarify the details, read the history of Ukraine, both Soviet and pre-revolutionary authors, you can also look into the history of Poland. Just don't read nationalists who lie without a twinge of conscience. For example, I have a whole shelf of books in Ukrainian, published in the USSR. And they shout from the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada to the whole world that in those same years the Ukrainian language was banned in the USSR.
