Is it possible to enable sulfur as intended?

This question has long been debated to death: "intended" would be precious stones, and sulfur is a "bug" by the game developers. As a result of the discussion, most players agreed to fix it in the HD mod. But if desired, you can disable the bug-fixing options in the HD mod or play without it altogether.
