In my understanding, there's a spirit and essence to the game. The tournament's spirit is inspired by the Champions League, but it doesn't change the essence. If you compare it to any sports game, chess would be the closest analogy, no matter how you look at it. Therefore, I believe that analogies and similar concepts are paramount.
Incidentally, in football, teams that make it to the playoffs often bring their second-string players for the final matches, which isn't ideal either!
But that's how it is, and yet no one says that such results should be canceled or not counted. And what about when 11 players are defending? Does the overall spirit of the game immediately die because of that? Or do all the other teams start doing the same? Although, of course, everyone chooses their own behavior.

Regarding canceling draws altogether, that's also unfair. What about people who are in a real stalemate? Should they play for another 40 hours without getting any enjoyment from the process?

As for asking them to play, I initially wrote that it would be better to play these matches, but what's the point if they don't want to?

Regarding three or one point, it certainly won't solve the problem, but it will make draws much less beneficial – that's obvious.
