111 - Tazar with 2 stacks, Lizardmen built; in the tavern, Wystan with 3 stacks and also Crag Hack. Right next to the castle are 2 prisons: one with 50-99 Griffins and one with 20-49 Obsidian Gargoyles; a Treasure Map site with an Obelisk and a Campfire guarded by 50-99 Mummies; both paths to the secondary town are blocked: one by 5-9 Necro Knights guarding a Helm +4, the other by 50-99 Snipers guarding a Treasure Map, Shield +4, and 4 resources. I run Tazar and Crag Hack through the experience stone to decide who will be the main hero; both get junk – Expert Armor for Tazar, Expert Offense for Crag Hack. I decide to make Crag Hack my main and put him on a Crypt. Hero separation: 6 heroes.
112 - I find 3 more Treasure Maps: one guarded by 10-19 Efreet Sultans (near the map is a Chain Mail +4), one by 50-99 Mummies, and one by 50-99 Greater Lizardmen. GO: simple Efreet. Near the GO I find an external dwelling of Lizardmen and Wyverns with weak guards, as well as a Dragon Utopia. Using Crag Hack, I take the Crypt for 2k and a +1 Attack upgrade, then start clearing 50-99 Gargoyles blocking the road. Meanwhile, the noob finds a Griffin Conservatory deep in the respawn (never captured it) and an external dwelling of Gnolls.
113 - I bring the Lizardmen from the external dwelling, upgrade them, totaling 37 – not bad. I clear the Gargoyles, get the Log. I take the +1 Defense, and start Crag Hack moving before the first Treasure Map guarded by Mummies. I position Wystan before the external dwelling of Wyverns.
114 - I take the external Wyvern dwelling with Wystan, place them in the castle, return the army to Crag Hack, attack the Mummies – there are 80 of them, I lose 10 Gnolls and the Ballista. The Treasure Map is small, but besides 4 Wyverns and a few Gnolls, there's nothing worthwhile to attack with, so I decide to take the prison with the 50-99 Obsidian Gargoyles using Crag Hack. I clear them with acceptable losses, and inside is Shakti with Expert Logistics, Offense, Tactics, and Advanced Scouting, and (importantly) with 70 Troglodytes :). By that time, Crag Hack had picked up Air Magic, and his specialty is still great, so making Shakti the main wasn't even a question. Using Shakti, I take the Treasure Map (for 4 Wyverns), and prepare him to clear a Hive guarded by 50-99 Greater Lizardmen next turn. Crag Hack runs up towards the Necro Knights. The noob finds another Griffin Conservatory (the second one).
115 - The Lizardmen formed into 1 stack when I cleared them; I miscalculated damage at one point and lost 1 Wyvern. The Treasure Map turned out to have 8 Wyverns, totaling 15 of them + 35 Greater Lizardmen + 4 Basilisks. I send all this to Crag Hack; he clears the Necro Knights, takes the Helm +4, sees an external Gnoll dwelling, as well as a Medusa Fountain, Gauntlets, and +1 Knowledge guarded by 20-49 Iron Golems. Without hesitation, I move up before all this loot. Using Tazar on the other side of the respawn, I position him to clear a Treasure Map guarded by 50-99 Mummies.
116 - I collect all the aforementioned loot with Crag Hack; he already has Expert Logistics and Advanced Air Magic; Haste and View Air were found earlier in shrines on the way to the GO. I also take another external Lizardmen dwelling with the noob. Crag Hack moves further towards the secondary town and positions himself before a Pandora's Box guarded by 100-249 Obsidian Gargoyles. The army goes back to Tazar, who takes a minor Treasure Map.
117 - Tazar takes the Medusa Fountain (8 Medusas), a pre-maxed Crypt; the army goes to the noob, who takes an external Basilisk dwelling; then we pass it to Crag Hack, who clears 107 Obsidian Gargoyles without much trouble – the box contains 10k XP. I get Artillery, Tactics, Wisdom, and Expert Air Magic. I continue along the road and discover that the secondary town is native, and next to it are a box and an external Wyvern dwelling guarded by 5-9 Nagas. I barely manage to grab all this; the box has 45 Greater Lizardmen; a decent stack is shaping up. I regret not taking Archery with Crag Hack, though it was offered, especially since there's a Bow +5% and a Quiver on the respawn. Build queue: Wyverns in the castle.
121 - I split Crag Hack into the main, build the Mage Guild – it has Bless and Slow; I sit down to restore mana. Meanwhile, I set up chains to take the Naga Bank, the second Griffin Conservatory, transport all the loot, and absorb resources from the secondary and external dwellings.
122 - I run Crag Hack to the GO, learn Haste and View Air from shrines, immediately using the latter. I find out the opponent is near me (apparently adjacent exits); the stats visible in the tavern at Goshun's are not scary. On my turn 122 near the GO, the opponent appears with what seems like a small army. I feel encouraged, realizing all is not lost. I position myself before the Dragon Utopia. Meanwhile, I take the Naga Bank and the second Griffin Conservatory with the noob heroes.
123 - Shakti takes the Treasure Map guarded by Snipers and the Shield+4. This gives a total of 37 Wyverns. I transfer all the accumulated loot and Wyverns to Crag Hack; he takes the Dragon Utopia (the second one), losing all the meat and 6 Wyverns. The only useful reward is Wings of the Netherworld; nothing for stats. With the gold obtained, I upgrade the Wyverns, buy everything remaining, and attack the GO. There are 70+ Efreet with Gauntlets of Strength; they are dealt with, losing the Ammo Cart, First Aid Tent, and a couple of flies. I cast View Air and see the opponent hasn't run far; I rush forward along the road, kill Nagash with 13 Liches, see a captured Griffin Conservatory and a Treasure Map, and in the last seconds, I attack Goshun, who was spotted a bit higher on the road.
FB:
Crag Hack: 11 7 6 9 (86 mana), 2 Angels, 1+1+1+1+27 Monks, 114 Greater Lizardmen.
Galtran: something like 13 7 7 8 (11 mana), 3 Angels, 1+1+1+512 Skeletons, 117 Greater Zombies, 36 Ghosts.
Besides the solid amount of meat, the opponent also had the Red Orb, which nullified my mana advantage. Well, nothing to be done; with Tactics, I closed off my Lizardmen, used the single units to cast Slow on the opponent's Ghosts, and removed the retaliation from the Skeletons. The opponent moves everything forward; I charge my Angels and Monks into the Skeletons, killing 200. Next round, I have to fly away, predictably getting cornered; in desperation, I charge into the Ghosts, killing half, but then the opponent's stacks left me with 8 out of 27 Monks. GG.
I think I played decently; the biggest mistake was giving up Necropolis in the draft. At some point during the game, before taking the Dragon Utopia, I even thought I might take one point from the Papa team, but it turned out to be hopeless: the opponent got dealt 3 Necromancers + a Necromancer's Cloak and Necromancy Amulet were lying on the respawn, and in the center, there were Necromancy Boots lying around, and of course, the opponent capitalized on this setup well.
Thanks for the game.
