Today on the Maidan, two DemAlliance members were killed – Ustym Holodniuk, a volunteer of the Democratic Alliance camp, and Andrii Movchan, a member of the party's Kyiv branch.
Let Zakharchenko not lie that today his regime guards used firearms to let "unarmed policemen escape from under fire."
The two DemAlliance members shot dead today are proof of Zakharchenko's lie. The Democratic Alliance party from day one advocated exclusively peaceful protest, and DemAlliance members never once deviated from this principle. DemAlliance members, in short, adhere to Gandhi's principles of nonviolent resistance. Therefore, the two fallen DemAlliance members were COMPLETELY UNARMED.
Ustym Holodniuk, 20 years old
So far I know almost nothing about the circumstances of Ustym Holodniuk's death – we know that a sniper's bullet struck him in the head.
Andrii Movchan, 34 years old
Andrii Movchan came to the Maidan every day for a few hours and looked for whom and how he could help. It was the same this morning. From approximately 9 AM to 10 AM, he walked around the barricades asking where he could be of service. At ten in the morning, he returned to the DemAlliance camp on Independence Square. What happened next, we haven't yet determined... Probably, he carried water or food to the barricades, as he did every day. After 11 AM, Andrii stopped answering phone calls... At noon, he was found simply shot dead – several gunshot wounds that left not the slightest chance of survival...
Andrii Movchan worked at the Ivan Franko National Theater as a stage master. He was a very gentle person. To some of his friends, by temperament he resembled a teddy bear. He spoke quietly and little. Yet he loved to philosophize. He was always so dreamy. Zakharchenko!!! Andrii Movchan posed no threat to anyone, enough with the lies! He had not only no weapon, but no means of protection either! Well, Andrii was not a warlike person, do you understand? Look at his Facebook page. Investigators can trace his phone calls, mail, contacts – there was nothing there, not a word, that would pose a threat to anyone.
There are no words to convey how sorry we are for these young lives! DemAlliance members offer their sincere condolences to the families of the fallen. And they remain on the Maidan.
