My mother is alive. There’s no need to ask. I asked my grandmother everything before she passed away 7 years ago. True, before the internet, I didn’t know that the word “khokhol” is considered a swear word for Ukrainians. My grandmother often said, “This is my Ukrainian pride,” and so on. I am one-quarter Ukrainian, so the events in Kyiv are of interest to me, at the very least.
